The multi-step linear questions that fill the middle of both modules: clearing fractions, translating a paragraph into an equation or inequality, solving systems by elimination, telling from the coefficients whether a system has one, no or infinitely many solutions, parallel and perpendicular lines, and interpreting a constant in a real model.

The linear questions that carry unknown constants: the value of k that makes an equation true for every x or for no x, the value that makes a system have no solution or infinitely many, a linear function recovered from two of its values, perpendicular lines through a given point, and word problems with two constraints where the answer is a boundary.

Working with the mean as a sum: missing values, removed values and weighted means of combined groups; how outliers and skew move the mean, median and standard deviation; recognizing exponential data by ratios; conditional probability from percents; what random sampling and random assignment each let you conclude; how the margin of error changes with sample size; and unit conversions with squared and cubed units.

Quadratics with an unknown constant and the discriminant condition that pins it down, the sum and product of roots without solving, matching coefficients in equivalent expressions, the remainder theorem and factors of polynomials, rational equations with extraneous or no solutions, exponential equations with a common base and equivalent rates per period, and translations of a function's graph.

Radians and the arc and sector formulas in radians, the unit circle and the signs of sine and cosine by quadrant, the identity sin² + cos² = 1, inscribed angles and tangents, completing the square to find a circle's center and radius, congruence and similarity conditions, and how scaling a figure scales its area and volume.
